UNDERSTANDING THE

SECRETERIAT
The Secreteriat is the Backbone of any Model United Nations Conference.
However, at Udyam, we do it differently. Want to know how?
THE CONCEPT
As part of the aim to realistically simulate the United Nations, a decision was made not only to realistically follow the proccedures of the U.N. organs in real life but also to adopt the structure of the secreteriat, effectively bringing realism to our organisational structure. Just as in the real secreteriat at the United Nations, the Office of the Secretary-General resides at the core of the organisation. Headed by the Secretary-General, who acts as the chief administrative officer of the conference. They are assisted by the Deputy Secretary-General, who serves as the second-in-command and provides advice as required by the Secretary-General. The Charge d'Affaires is the liaison between the Office of the Secretary-General and the Other departments of the Secreteriat. There are Various departments within the Secreteriat that advise the Secretary-General on the day-to-day affairs of the U.N., headed by the Under Secretary-General (USG), who is the main representative of the department. They were assisted by the Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) and the Directors
