HOW IS OUR SECRETERIAT STRUCTURED ?
As part of the aim to realistically simulate the United Nations, a decision was made not only to realistically follow the proccedures of the U.N. organs in real life but also to adopt the structure of the secreteriat, effectively bringing realism to our organisational structure.
Just as in the real secreteriat at the United Nations, the Office of the Secretary-General resides at the core of the organisation. Headed by the Secretary-General, who acts as the chief administrative officer of the conference. They are assisted by the Deputy Secretary-General, who serves as the second-in-command and provides advice as required by the Secretary-General. The Charge d'Affaires is the liaison between the Office of the Secretary-General and the Other departments of the Secreteriat.
There are Various departments within the Secreteriat that advise the Secretary-General on the day-to-day affairs of the U.N., headed by the Under Secretary-General (USG), who is the main representative of the department. They were assisted by the Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) and the Directors

DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL AND PEACEBUILDING AFFAIRS
The Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on ongoing political events worldwide and for briefing, upon request, any organ of the U.N. on any such situation.
At Udyam, this department shapes the conference core by advising the Secretary-General on committees that can be simulated at the conference and the agenda. They are also responsible for the selection of the Bureau members of the conference and coordinating with them on ensuring quality of the event is maintained,wether it be the study guides or committiee proccedings.
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS
The Department of Social and Economic Affairs is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on ongoing social and economic matters, and also advises the various economic and social-led bodies on
At Udyam, this department shapes the conference core by advising the Secretary-General by assisting on economic affairs of the conferences, including finances and any social events within the conference.
DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND
CONFERENCE AFFAIRS
The Department of General Assembly and Conference Affairs is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on the day-to-day management of the UN body and its schedules, as well as on the logistical matters of the UN as a whole. At Udyam, this department shapes the conference's score by handling all scheduling and logistical needs.
DEPARTMENT OF GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS
The Department of Global Communications is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on Public affairs and handling all formal communications from the U.N. to the world. At Udyam. This department shapes the conference's core by managing all formal communications to all delegates and promoting Udyam MUN to all.
DEPARTMENT OF OPERATIONAL SUPPORT.
DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY AND SECURITY
The Department of Operational Support is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on operational matters, including documentation, IT, and translation support. At Udyam. This department shapes the conference's core by handling all documentation and media posts, creating designs and posters.
The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on the security and safety of all diplomats at the United Nations. They are also all responsible for maintaining protocol in the conference. At Udyam. This department shapes the conference's core by maintaining order and ensuring peace and security at the conference.
OFFICE OF NEW AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
The Office of New and Emerging Technologies is responsible for advising the Secretary-General on how new technologies are effectively shaping the new world order. used. At Udyam. This department shapes the conference's core by maintaining our digital assets as well as our newsletter, Pratidhwani.
